Cricket Company Biography
The Cricket Company was founded in 1979 with the intention of creating strong marketing and promotions in the salon tools category for professional hair stylists.
The first Cricket product launch was a wooden handled round brush with nylon bristles named the RP, exclusively for West Coast Beauty Supply. This was also the first brush marketed not only for stylist use, but for salon retail. This promotion was such as success that distributors all over the country requested the brush for their respective territories to sell. With that the decision was made to introduce Cricket nationally.
Cricket continued to launch products that have remained staple brands to professional stylists. Static Free, Technique, Visage, Silkombs, to name a few. Cricket then developed a high quality line of salon apparel that featured "high fashion" trendy patterns and colors mixed in everyday capes, aprons, and cover-ups in cloth, waterproof, and all purpose materials. Cricket's line of salon accessory products such as the signature oval styling mirror, neck dusters, ProClips, Super grip Clips, H20 Spray Bottles, all became instant leaders in their categories.
Cricket developed a line of high end haircutting shears and branded them Centrix. These shears featured innovative design, ergonomic comfort, and optimal performance in several different price ranges. Centrix was also the first brand of shears that featured high value and branded premiums as a gift with purchase when any of these shears were purchased. Since then Cricket has launched the Centrix Roc-it Dog line of shears, a collection of multipurpose tools at a mid-priced range that has hands down become the most popular line in the professional industry. Cricket also has launched the S-Series line of shears under the Cricket brand which offers the budget-conscious stylist 3 price levels of performance based shears.
Cricket continues to expand and improve the line. In recent years Cricket has expanded into electrical appliances starting with the Straight Crazy line of flat irons, the Centrix 5000 dryer, the Friction Free line of irons and dryers, the Centrix Styling iron, and most recently The Centrix QZone dryer. This dryer features "IQ" (Insanely Quiet) technology that has made the professional salon a more "noise friendly" environment.
The Cricket team is made up of people with strong salon industry experience combined with creativity, strong work ethic, and of course a commitment to outstanding customer service.
